How We Manufacture High Quality Jewelry Using the Lost Wax Technique
The process starts by making a mold of your original artwork. Room temperature vulcanizing molds are created for delicate prototypes while hard rubber molds are used for metal masters. The molds are precision cut making them production friendly with sprues attached and seam lines in inconspicuous places.
Hot wax is injected into the molds and plastic like models are created in the image of the original. What separated Kick ‘n Cast from other manufacturers is the care taken in preparing the waxes for casting. Air bubbles, seam lines and flanges are removed and smooth surfaces are polished with solvent. Wax models are sprued to casting tree in proper form to eliminate porosity.
